More about Linda:

Linda Lane Devlin is a Board Registered Interventionist with decades of experience working with people struggling with addiction and members of their families. She is a long-standing member of the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation, an internationally certified alcohol and drug counsellor through the International Committee of the Red Cross, and a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) through the Pennsylvania Certification Board.

She is involved in a number of organizations working around addiction, serving on the boards or organizing committees for the Recovery Capital Conference, Recovery Day BC, Calgary’s Sober Stampede, and Hockey Helps the Homeless.

Our team of Certified Intervention Specialists and counsellors have worked with hundreds of families with a model called Family Case Management. Central to this approach is that we work with the addicted individual in a personalized & comprehensive program but also work with members of their family and, sometimes, friends. Our goal is to get everyone closely involved in the addiction on a path to a new, more positive lifestyle.

Our process starts with a preliminary meeting where we learn about your unique situation, followed by a loving intervention with your addicted family member. From there, we will work with all involved on a focused program of care tailored to individual needs, case management that connects everyone involved to supports, and after-care.

Modern interventions are not what you have seen on TV. Rather, they are a direct, heart-to-heart conversation between loved ones led by a professional with decades of experience. Done well, they can be a starting point on the path to a better quality of life for everyone involved.

We work with the person struggling with their addiction to help them recognize the connection between alcohol and drugs and the problems in their life, and create a plan for moving forward in a more positive way. Many get to a point they are ready for a treatment program and a commitment to sober living. For others, it can mean managing the addiction through reduced usage.

Whether treatment is accepted or not, we work with their spouses, parents, siblings, and other family members and friends to help each of them create a new relationship to the situation and better means to cope. Every situation is different, and the journey can last anywhere from a few weeks to years.

Get in touch with us today to start your journey towards a successful recovery, whatever that might look like for you.

Testimonial

Here's a testimonial shared by our valued client:

Professional and Kind

“ Linda was a savior when it came to holding an intervention to get my son into treatment for alcohol and drug abuse.

She responded quickly to the emergency at hand and coordinated an effort of family and friends to be part of the intervention process.

Even though my son was resistant to getting the treatment he needed, she was able to persuade him to accept “the gift of treatment” in a loving way with the help of his friends and family. It was not meant to be a punishing experience but rather a loving nudge to get him to accept the treatment and change the direction of his life.

Linda was professional and kind, but firm when she needed to be.

She accompanied me with my son to the treatment centre and took every effort to ensure our comfort in the transition to inpatient treatment. This has been one of the most difficult times in the life of our family. I know we could not have done this on our own. She made this necessary step happen and we are so thankful for her expertise and ongoing support.”
